Suffer Up Podcast
Welcome to the Suffer Up podcast, and thank you for viewing our page! We are Nate and Ryan, who both have spent our lives doing hard things to challenge ourselves and help others. Our mission is to encourage and lead others to suffer with a purpose. We strive to help others level up in life with an emphasis on spiritual, mental and physical wellbeing. Our goal is to deliver consistent, quality content related to those three pillars. Nate is a Firefighter Paramedic with over 10 years of related experience in public safety. He enjoys the great outdoors including hunting, fishing, running, and working out. He is a follower of Christ, husband, father, co-worker, and church member who has a passion to share his story and motivate others to be the best version of themselves as possible. Several years back, Nate suffered from a lot of work-related trauma that he openly shares in this podcast, and how he overcame those challenges. Nate has a passion to help others in this area as he continues to challenge himself in the three pillars here at Suffer UP. Ryan is a former US Navy Aviation Rescue Swimmer of 8 years and now owns an excavation and landscaping company. He is a follower of Christ, a devoted husband, and a loving father who enjoys swimming, running, hiking, and anything outdoors. Ryan has always felt called to help others and has a passion for teaching. He hopes to use his gifts and experiences to encourage others to suffer with a purpose and overcome life’s challenges.

EP#49 The 74-ish Mile: Florida Death Race-Recap
Follow Suffer UP
The Suffer Up team—Nate, Ryan, Lauren, and Sydney—give a candid, post-race recap hours after finishing the 74-ish mile Florida Death Race, covering the course, carrying the symbolic railroad spike, strict cutoffs, and brutal heat.
They share runner and crew perspectives on navigation errors, water resupplies, pacing styles, gear and fueling choices, medical and morale challenges, and the community support that carried them to the finish. The Florida Death Race hosted in Live Oak, Florida is a true test for even the most experienced trail runners. With 90% of this course is along the unforgiving Florida trail, the orange blazes claimed several of the runners-disabling them a chance to finish. This is a race recap of the Florida Death Race. Not for the faint of heart.
